Notes for Capt. *William MARSTON |
He came to Salem, Essex Co., MA in the time frame of 1634-1636. He was a Quaker who suffered religious persecution both in England and in Hampton, Mass.
---------------------------------------------------
He had a land grant in in Hampton 30 Jun 1640 and probably had a home lot there earlier near the present site of the town house. He was Selectman in 1652. He married in England and brought his first wife with him to America. His will, 25 Jun - 8 Oct, left everything to his 8 yr. old daughter with the exception of 5 shillings to each son. His second wife, Sabina, was his executrix. She claimed her dower. Source: Genealogical Dictionary, Maine & New Hampshire, Surnames, M-N, Page 462 |
