142 p.950 " 6th Baron, born 1389. Summoned to Parliament from 24 Aug., 1419, to 5 July, 1435. This nobleman was constituted, 9th of Henry V, Governor of Roxborough Castle, in Scotland, for four years, with an allowance of ś1000 per annum in time of peace and ś2000 in war. In the 1st of Henry VI, he was joined in commission with the Bishop of London, and others, to treat of peace with James, King of Scotland. In 13th of the same reign his lordship was one of the chief commanders sent with the forces to the relief of Berwick Castle, then being besieged by the Scots. He married, contract 28 Oct., 1407, Elizabeth, eldest daughter and co-heir of Sir Robert Ferrers, of Wemme, and his wife Joan de Beaufort, daughter of John, Earl of Lancaster."
