142He served in Wales at the time of the insurrection of Llewellyn against King Henry III in 1256. In 1261 he was constituted one of the four Justices Itinerant for County Hereford, and in two years afterwards was, upon the disturbances made by the Welsh, ordered by the King to fortify Monmouth Castle and other castles of which he was then governor.
