NB. The business is carried on as usual at the same shop, by Michael Branson, in all its various branches, in Market street, opposite the store of misters Heathcote and Dall's, a few doors below Light street." ------------------------------------------------- Wednesday, September 21, 1796 issue of the Federal Gazette (Baltimore, MD) there is found an ad which states: "For Sale - 6,000 muskrat skins, camels hair, and mop morocco. William Branson, Hatter No. 131, Baltimore street" Similar ads were taken out through Aug. 1800 by Branson & Smith with varying quantities of furs. -------------------------------------------------- Federal Gazette (Baltimore, MD) of Friday, January 23, 1801: Carried an ad regarding a run away servant, Samuel Sisier, brass founder, which was taken out by a Michael Branson. ------------------------------------------------- In issues dated beginning Saturday, March 29, 1806 of the American and Commercial Daily Advertiser (Baltimore, MD), a Wm. Branson took out ads alerting the public to be watchful for his runaway apprentices named Charles White and Isaac Webb, "hatters by trade". A $40.00 reward is offered. ------------------------------------------------- | ||||
