398According to Source, the first initial in his name was "Z.". He resided at 1519 Walnut St. in Phila., PA. Source states he had one son named Frank. Other source below states his name is Paul. Perhaps it was Francis Paul or vice versa. ---------------------------------------------------- In the Frederick Co., Md. Directory of 1878, there is a Frank Bartholow listed as Tanner for the area named Plane no. Four, "located on the B.& O. Railroad, 46 mi. from Baltimore. There is an H.T. Bartholow listed as a farmer in the 1878 Carroll Co. Directory in the area of Bird Hill. 2Robert was the same age as Hanson M. Drach. They were medical students together. They both lived with Dr. Thomas Wells in 1850. They both graduated from U of M and had outstanding careers in medicine. Dr. Bartholow ultimately became the Chief of Medicine at Jefferson Medical School in Phila., Pa. and was known worldwide. They both married Lammott sisters. ---------------------------------------------------- 399In 1874, the first confirmation that electrical stimulation of the human cortex on one side stimulates the muscles on the opposite side of the body was made by Dr. Robert Bartholow, 1852 graduate of the University of Maryland Medical School. ---------------------------------------------------- 400In an 1833 listing of those holding licenses for Ordinaries in Frederick Co., Md. is a Thomas Barthelow.
