When he resigned his commission to the Gen'l. Assembly in October [of 1791], 3 months after his father, Rev. Samuel Moseley died, the Connecticut Gen'l. Assembly notes have him as a Lieutenant Colonel. ...Ebenezer had 4 children born to he and Martha (STRONG) Mosely: Ebenezer (1781-1854), who removed to Newburyport, MA in 1805 and married Mary Ann OXNARD [Ben is descended from this line]; Patty (1774-1851), who married Rev. Caleb BLAKE; Sophia, whose name is handwritten "Sophiah" in her father's last will and testament, (1776-1821), married John ABBOTT; and Col. Samuel S. (1787-1866), who married Harriet BULKELEY. "Ebenezer was elected tothe Connecticut Gen'l. Assembly for a total of 28 sessions; some from Windham and some from Hampton after [the] Windham was broken apart in 1786, I believe. This info. is compiled from the CT. Colonial Records on file at the CT. State Library in Hartford; in the Legal Reference Section. "He was appointed by the Gen'l. Assembly to 33 consecutive one year terms as a Justice of the Peace in Windham Co." The appointments would be made in the May session of the Gen'l. Assembly for the session to run for the following year." | ||||||||||||
