1844 Adoption of William A. Lauver
This document was given to Eliz. J. Rivers Peters by her father, Wm. C. Rivers before his death in 1995. I pray that the presence of this document on the internet sheds light for his family that may be aware of his adoption by Samuel A. Lauver, changing his real name of William N. Martin to William A. Lauver. His father, Nathaniel Martin, orphaned Young William. I know no details in regard to Nathaniel.
I have a good friend who's trying to research her husband's family tree. His grandfather was adopted and they have no idea as to his father's identity. This of course means that she can go no further in that line. Because of this, there are thousands of ancestors that her children will never know about. Although I can do nothing to help her, I can help the ancestors of William A. Lauver (William N. Martin) and any other descendents of Nathaniel Martin who may be looking for other family members. I believe the posting of this document is legal and proper due to its age.
