1920 Supoena - Baltimore City

It's obvious that this supoena is commanding (Mary) Belle Kennard to the circuit court of Baltimore City. What isn't known, is the reason. I would have thought that some reason would be stated on the document. It states, "To answer the complaint of Sophia Louisa Webb". The supoena is signed by Charles R. Whiteford, Clerk. The document also mentions the name of "the honorable" Morris A. Soper, Chief Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, Md. I'm also surprised to see Mary Belle Kennard's name on a legal document as simply being Belle. I would guess that the individual seeking satisfaction in the court knew her as Belle.
