Ancestral Homes

On this page you'll find pictures of some of the homes of our ancestors or allied families.

The home above was built in the 1830's in Fayetteville, N.Y. by Seymour June, father-in-law of William Elliott Todd. It remained in the family until 1966. It is now used as an antique shop.

The above home was located at 4500 Spruce Street, S.W. corner 45th, West Philadelphia, Pa. It was the home of Charles Moseley Swain, the president of City Trust Co., Director of the Merchants' National Bank, former Councilman and son of Wm. Moseley Swain, founder of the "Public Ledger".

The above house was the home of William J. Swain, [2 Apr 1839 - 15 Jun 1903], lawyer, editor and publisher, founder of the "Public Record" and son of Wm. Moseley Swain, founder of the "Public Ledger". The home was located at 3925 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, Pa.

"Handy Point" was built about 1785 by Marmaduke Tilden. The home came into the possession of Mary Handy McCoy and she owned it until her death on 21 Apr 1884.
