State of New York
Surgeon General's Office

Albany Oct. 9th 1861
12th Regiment

James I. Johnson, Esq.

Dear Sir,

Through some inadvertence of Col. Walwrath the appointment of Dr. Geo. B. Todd as Assistant Surgeon of the Twelfth Regiment has not been sent to the Adjt. Genl's office. He is none the less entitled to his Commission to date the same as the other offficers of the Regiment - Do him the justice to have it corrected.

Truly Yours,

S. Oakley Vanderpoel,
Surgeon General
