Rivers Photo Gallery
Sarah - daughter of Augustus H. Rivers, sister of my Grampy, identified the photo's subjects on the back of the photo as the father of our immigrant, Joseph C.Rivers and six of his brothers. Sarah wrote, "Father's grandfather and six of his sons. His other son, Grandfather Rivers, is not on it. He had 7 sons.".
Sarah is BJ & Richard's 3rd great aunt. The photo on the left above is as the photo appeared which Richard sent to me. The middle photo is the reverse with Sarah's notation, and the last at far right is my attempt at removing some of the scars of time. Photo prov. by Richard Rivers, presently residing in Thailand. |

Richard Rivers emailed me the scan of this photo, and stated it had a notation on the back of it written by our shared great aunt, Sarah Rivers, daughter of Augustus (1847-1921). It reads, "Father's father, Grandfather Rivers". The identity of the man would be Joseph "Joe" C. Rivers (abt 1821-1879), father of Augustus H. Rivers who was born 14 Nov 1847 in Montreal, Canada.

According to Richard Rivers (Contributor), Sarah - daughter of Augustus H. Rivers identified the photo's subject on the back of the photo as Josephine Rivers, daughter of the immigrants, Joseph & Margaret Rivers. Sarah wrote, "Aunt Josephine Eaton - Pops Sister". She is BJ & Richard's 3rd great aunt. The photo on the left above is as the photo appeared which Richard sent to me with identifying information added. The photo to its right is an edited version of the photo as I attempted to reduce the signs of time and wear.

The people in the photo are "Mister Tom", a boarder with Grandma Rivers for as long as BJ can remember, and Anna Belle Kennard Rivers, mother of Joseph A., Wm. C., and Annabelle Rivers. I'm not sure of the location. For all intents and purposes, Mr. Tom was sort of a stand-in grandfather to us. He was a sweet tempered, Irish immigrant, and head Chef at the Pimlico Hotel in Baltimore.
